Musical Style
The Used's music has been classified under many sub-genres of rock. Their musical style has been labeled as emo, screamo, post-hardcore, alternative rock, pop-punk, punk rock, hard rock, and metalcore. Their musical style is also called as "Screamo-tinged post-hardcore" and "emo-metal".
Band bassist Jeph Howard has said, "We just don't consider ourselves 'emo' or 'screamo' and we never have. We're a rock band that's all we've ever been."
