The Twits - Film

Film

A feature film adaptation of the book has been in development since 2003 by Vanguard Animation and its founder John H. Williams. As part of multi-picture deal with Walt Disney Pictures, Vanguard was set to produce a CG animated/live action film, with John Cleese and Kirk DeMicco writing the screenplay. In 2004, it was reported that Mark Mylod signed up to direct the feature, and that Cleese may star in the film.

In 2006, after the executive/regime changes at Disney, the project moved to Working Title and Universal. As of 2012, the official site of Vanguard Animation is stating that Conrad Vernon, the director of Shrek 2 and Monsters vs. Aliens, will direct the film.

Famous quotes containing the word film:

You should look straight at a film; that’s the only way to see one. Film is not the art of scholars but of illiterates.
    Werner Herzog (b. 1942)

His education lay like a film of white oil on the black lake of his barbarian consciousness. For this reason, the things he said were hardly interesting at all. Only what he was.
    —D.H. (David Herbert)

I think of horror films as art, as films of confrontation. Films that make you confront aspects of your own life that are difficult to face. Just because you’re making a horror film doesn’t mean you can’t make an artful film.
    David Cronenberg (b. 1943)
