The Song That Never Ends - The Song That Gets On Everybody's Nerves

The Song That Gets On Everybody's Nerves

This song is very similar to "The Song that Never Ends." This variation is considered to be much more annoying as it constantly reminds whoever is listening that it will get on their nerves. This song is usually sung by children trying to annoy an adult present at the time, more often than not during long trips or in a public area (the beach, the park, etc.).

Sung to the tune of either "Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush" or "The Battle Hymn of the Republic"

I know a song that gets on everybody's nerves,
everybody's nerves, everybody's nerves.
I know a song that gets on everybody's nerves,
and this is how it goes.

Famous quotes containing the words song and/or nerves:

In almost all climes the tortoise and the frog are among the precursors and heralds of this season, and birds fly with song and glancing plumage, and plants spring and bloom, and winds blow, to correct this slight oscillation of the poles and preserve the equilibrium of nature.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

...I never drink wine ... I keep my hands soft and supple ... I sleep in a soft bed and never over-tire my body. It is because when my hour strikes I must be a perfect instrument. My eyes must be steady, my brain clear, my nerves calm, my aim true. I must be prepared to do my work, successfully if God wills. But if I perish, I perish.
