Famous quotes containing the words seldom, kid, live and/or abbey:
“Alonzo. What, all so soon asleep! I wish mine eyes
Would, with themselves, shut up my thoughts. I find
They are inclined to do so.
Sebastian. Please you, sir,
Do not omit the heavy offer of it.
It seldom visits sorrow; when it doth,
It is a comforter.”
—William Shakespeare (15641616)
“The point is children lie to others for good and sufficient reasons, but they dont kid themselves. They know who did what, but they feel no moral imperative to inform grownups.”
—Leontine Young (20th century)
“nat every wight he sholde go selle
Al that he hadde and yive it to the poore,
And in swich wise folwe him and his fore:
He spak to hem that wolde live parfitly
And lordinges, by youre leve, that am nat I.”
—Geoffrey Chaucer (1340?1400)
“The Abbey always reminds me of that old toast, Above lofty timbers, the walls around are bare, echoing to our laughter, as though the dead were there.”
—Garrett Fort (19001945)
