The People's Court - Theme Music

Theme Music

The theme music, "The Big One (People's Court Theme)", was composed by Alan Stanley Tew (British PRS, affil. BMI). Rapper Nelly sampled it for his song "Iz U", from the film The Haunted Mansion, and also featured on his album Da Derrty Versions. The tune was also used in two episodes of SpongeBob SquarePants and "Blue Harvest", the sixth season premiere episode of Family Guy. This theme was also used on an episode of WWE Raw in "The Trial of Eric Bischoff" and first featured in 'Barbara Broadcast'. The song was also used in the 1980 film The Satisfiers of Alpha Blue. Jay-Z also recorded a song called "People's Court", which sampled the theme. The theme music also appears in the movie Malibu High (1979), during the chase scene near the end of the film. It is also used as the theme music for the Balls of Steel segment 'Big Gay Following' and was featured in an episode of Boy Meets World, as well as Popular.

Famous quotes containing the words theme and/or music:

One theme links together these new proposals for family policy—the idea that the family is exceedingly durable. Changes in structure and function and individual roles are not to be confused with the collapse of the family. Families remain more important in the lives of children than other institutions. Family ties are stronger and more vital than many of us imagine in the perennial atmosphere of crisis surrounding the subject.
    Joseph Featherstone (20th century)

But the dark changed to red, and torches shone,
And deafening music shook the leaves; a troop
Shouldered a litter with a wounded man,
Or smote upon the string and to the sound
Sang of the beast that gave the fatal wound.
    William Butler Yeats (1865–1939)
