The Movie Channel

The Movie Channel (TMC) is an American premium channel owned by Showtime Networks, Inc., a subsidiary of CBS Corporation, which shows mostly movies, as well as special behind-the-scenes features, softcore adult erotica and movie trivia.

Although the majority of cable systems typically sell The Movie Channel as a package with sister premium channel Showtime, Dish Network and DirecTV do alternately sell The Movie Channel to non-Showtime subscribers (it is one of only two premium channels to be offered in this manner, the other being Encore).

Famous quotes containing the words movie and/or channel:

The geometry of landscape and situation seems to create its own systems of time, the sense of a dynamic element which is cinematising the events of the canvas, translating a posture or ceremony into dynamic terms. The greatest movie of the 20th century is the Mona Lisa, just as the greatest novel is Gray’s Anatomy.
    —J.G. (James Graham)

This is what the Church is said to want, not party men, but sensible, temperate, sober, well-judging persons, to guide it through the channel of no-meaning, between the Scylla and Charybdis of Aye and No.
    Cardinal John Henry Newman (1801–1890)
