Awards
The newspaper has been highly decorated by national and state organizations, including several ACP Pacemaker awards, Society of Professional Journalists Mark of Excellence Awards and Missouri College Media Association Better Newspaper Contest awards.
In October 2007 it was announced that The Maneater had won the 2007 Pacemaker Award, which is considered the Pulitzer Prize of collegiate journalism. The newspaper was a finalist in 2012.
The Maneater went on to win the Online Pacemaker Award, the highest national honor for college newspaper websites, in October 2009 and again in October 2012. The Maneater's website also won the Missouri College Media Association's first place prize in 2011.
