The Hurdy Gurdy Man - Cover Versions

Cover Versions

American rock band The Butthole Surfers recorded a version of "Hurdy Gurdy Man" on their 1991 album Pioughd.

King Crimson played "Get Thy Bearings" live in 1969 and '71. The song was primarily used as a launching pad for extended improvisation. While Boz Burrell kept close to the original words during 1971, Greg Lake took some liberties with the lyrics in 1969.

L.A. Guns covered "Hurdy Gurdy Man" for the album Rips the Covers Off.

Famous quotes containing the words cover and/or versions:

If I use the media, even with tricks, to publicise a black youth being shot in the back in Teaneck, New Jersey ... then I should be praised for it, and it’s more of a comment on them than me that it would take tricks to make them cover the loss of life.
    Al, Rev. Sharpton (b. 1954)

The assumption must be that those who can see value only in tradition, or versions of it, deny man’s ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
    Stephen Bayley (b. 1951)
