The Hoover Historical Center
In the 1970s, the company opened The Hoover Historical Center in North Canton, Ohio. It is a museum dedicated to the history of the Hoover company. As you begin your tour at the Historical Center, you will learn facts about the Hoover family and view displays of non-electric vacuum cleaners leading up to the Spangler prototype, which would become the first Hoover cleaner. As you proceed, you learn about the early formation of the Hoover company; view samples of Hoover cleaners spanning from the 1907/1908 Model O to present; and observe examples of Hoover's extensive advertising campaigns throughout the years. The center also includes a gift shop where you can buy Hoover memorabilia at the end of the tour.
