The Chandler Family - Stuart Chandler

Stuart Chandler

Adam's older twin brother; Charlotte's brother.

Stuart is the identical twin brother to wealthy businessman, Adam Chandler. However, Stuart is deliberately played to be Adam's exact opposite in personality: while Adam is ruthless, unethical, and domineering, Stuart is kind, generous, and honest. This is also reflected in their physical appearances: Adam always wears a business suit and keeps his hair slick and neat, while Stuart wore colorful cardigans with slacks and had rumpled hair. Stuart often serves as his brother's conscience, attempting to sway Adam from some of his more heartless schemes.

Famous quotes containing the words stuart and/or chandler:

I can remember no time when I did not understand that my mother must write books because people would have and read them; but I cannot remember one hour in which her children needed her and did not find her.
    —Elizabeth Stuart Phelps (1844–1911)

That’s one thing I like about Hollywood. The writer is there revealed in his ultimate corruption. He asks no praise, because his praise comes to him in the form of a salary check. In Hollywood the average writer is not young, not honest, not brave, and a bit overdressed. But he is darn good company, which book writers as a rule are not. He is better than what he writes. Most book writers are not as good.
    —Raymond Chandler (1888–1959)
