The Bruce Dickinson

The Bruce Dickinson

"More cowbell" is an American pop culture catchphrase originally derived from an April 8, 2000, Saturday Night Live comedy sketch which fictionalized the recording of the song "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" by Blue Öyster Cult. The sketch featured guest host Christopher Walken as music producer "The Bruce Dickinson" (as opposed to Iron Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson) and regular cast member Will Ferrell, who wrote the sketch, as fictional cowbell player Gene Frenkle.

Famous quotes containing the words bruce dickinson, bruce and/or dickinson:

Rock music should be gross: that’s the fun of it. It gets up and drops its trousers.
    Bruce Dickinson (b. 1958)

Now a Jew, in the dictionary, is one who is descended from the ancient tribes of Judea, or one who is regarded as descended from that tribe. That’s what it says in the dictionary; but you and I know what a Jew is—One Who Killed Our Lord.... And although there should be a statute of limitations for that crime, it seems that those who neither have the actions nor the gait of Christians, pagan or not, will bust us out, unrelenting dues, for another deuce.
    —Lenny Bruce (1925–1966)

    Ample make this Bed—
    Make this Bed with Awe—
In it wait till Judgment break
    Excellent and Fair.
    —Emily Dickinson (1830–1886)
