Thames Valley Park - Transport Links

Transport Links

The site is at the Northern terminus of the A3290 (formerly part of the now shortened A329(M)) giving good connections to the M4 and A4. Originally the A329(M) was supposed to follow the river West from Thames Valley Park towards a final junction with Vastern Road.

There is also a free bus service between Thames Valley Park and Reading railway station which in turn has good transport connections for London and Heathrow Airport.

A railway station to serve Thames Valley Park was proposed in the 1998 Reading Borough Local Plan. It would occupy the site of the former coal sidings of the closed Earley power station. As at April 2013, the station had not been built.

Famous quotes containing the words transport and/or links:

One may disavow and disclaim vices that surprise us, and whereto our passions transport us; but those which by long habits are rooted in a strong and ... powerful will are not subject to contradiction. Repentance is but a denying of our will, and an opposition of our fantasies.
    Michel de Montaigne (1533–1592)

An alliance is like a chain. It is not made stronger by adding weak links to it. A great power like the United States gains no advantage and it loses prestige by offering, indeed peddling, its alliances to all and sundry. An alliance should be hard diplomatic currency, valuable and hard to get, and not inflationary paper from the mimeograph machine in the State Department.
    Walter Lippmann (1889–1974)
