Testicle (food) - Names

Names

Testicles are known by a wide variety of euphemisms, including 'stones', 'mountain oysters', 'prairie oysters', and so on. Lamb testicles in particular are often called 'lamb fries' or simply fries (though that may also refer to other organ meats). The French term "animelles" is occasionally encountered. In Spanish speaking countries in Central and South America they are known as huevos de toro, or 'bull's eggs'.

Famous quotes containing the word names:

A knowledge that people live close by is,
I think, enough. And even if only first names are ever exchanged
The people who own them seem rock-true and marvelously self-sufficient.
    John Ashbery (b. 1927)

At night thousands of names and slogans are outlined in neon, and searchlight beams often pierce the sky, perhaps announcing a motion picture premiere, perhaps the opening of a new hamburger stand.
—For the State of California, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)

No, no! I don’t, I don’t want to know your name. You don’t have a name, and I don’t have a name, either. No names here. Not one name.
    Bernardo Bertolucci (b. 1940)
