Ten FM is a local community radio station that broadcasts on 89.7 and 98.7 MHz. This community station, which is quite possibly one of the largest community radio stations in Australia in terms of broadcasting area, was opened in the early 1980s and has since changed its name & frequency from 2TEN FM (on 107.5 MHz) to TEN FM, dropping the 2 because of the added service areas in Queensland. The community station is located on the NSW/QLD border with its main studio located in Tenterfield (NSW). It also services Queensland around the towns of Texas, Stanthorpe, Ballandean and Wallangarra. Towns in NSW serviced by Ten FM include Legume, Yetman, Urbenville, Glen Innes, Tabulam, Woodenbong, Bonshaw, Drake and Deepwater. The Station employs one paid staff member, responsible for Sales and Station Management. The remaining staff members are all volunteers who range in age from 14 to 70.
