Technical Communication Tools - XML Editors

XML Editors

XML editors are applied for creating structured documents in the XML format. XML content can be edited as plain text, while some XML editors look like word processors and provide WYSIWYG editing of structured content. The most commonly used XML editors are Arbortext, Oxygen, Syntext Serna, XMLmind, and XMetaL.

The most common format for writing technical documentation is using the DocBook XML system. This is a very simple yet powerful language which can be used to create a wide variety of popular formats PDF, HTML, CHM, ePub, JavaDoc, etc., and is used by O'Reilly Media for some of their popular computing textbooks.

Famous quotes containing the word editors:

Narrowed-down by her early editors and anthologists, reduced to quaintness or spinsterish oddity by many of her commentators, sentimentalized, fallen-in-love with like some gnomic Garbo, still unread in the breadth and depth of her full range of work, she was, and is, a wonder to me when I try to imagine myself into that mind.
    Adrienne Rich (b. 1929)
