Tapestry (Carole King Album) - Cover Art

Cover Art

The picture used for the cover of Tapestry, according to Jim McCrary, the photographer who captured King, was taken at a Laurel Canyon house where King lived on Wonderland Ave., not her house at 8815 Appian Way in Laurel Canyon, California. It shows her sitting near old Indian print curtains and holding a tapestry she hand stitched herself. Also in the picture is her cat Telemachus.

Famous quotes containing the words cover and/or art:

    There is reason in the distinction of civil and uncivil. The manners are sometimes so rough a rind that we doubt whether they cover any core or sap-wood at all.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

    We’re made so that we love
    First when we see them painted, things we have passed
    Perhaps a hundred times nor cared to see;
    And so they are better, painted—better to us,
    Which is the same thing. Art was given for that;
    God uses us to help each other so,
    Robert Browning (1812–1889)
