Tam Kon Shan

Tam Kon Shan (Chinese: 擔杆山 or 担杆山) is a hill stood between Moon Tsai Tong and Cheung Shue Tau on the Tsing Yi Island, Hong Kong. Part of the hill was removed to build west half of Cheung On Estate. Nearby road structures Tam Kon Shan Road and Tam Kon Shan Interchange were named after it.

Famous quotes containing the words tam and/or shan:

    O I forbid you, maidens a’
That wear gowd on your hair,
To come, or gae by Carterhaugh,
    For young Tom-lin is there.
    —Unknown. Tam Lin (l. 1–4)

Becoming more flexible, open-minded, having a capacity to deal with change is a good thing. But it is far from the whole story. Grandparents, in the absence of the social institutions that once demanded civilized behavior, have their work cut out for them. Our grandchildren are hungry for our love and approval, but also for standards being set.
    —Eda Le Shan (20th century)
