On 14 June 2012, Mugen Motorsports announced that Takuma Sato will race with Team Mugen in the last 2 rounds, as well as the JAF Grand Prix, at Sportsland Sugo, Suzuka Circuit and Fuji Speedway of the 2012 Formula Nippon season.
