Tabula Cortonensis - Physical Description

Physical Description

The tablet measures 50 centimetres (20 in) by 30 centimetres (12 in), and is about between 2 millimetres (0.079 in) and 3 millimetres (0.12 in) thick.

When discovered, the tablet had been broken into multiple pieces, of which only seven have been found (Larissa & Giuliano Bonfante. The Etruscan Language, p. 179. 2002). The missing portion is believed by Etruscanists to contain only names and not details of the estate.

Famous quotes containing the words physical and/or description:

All this fuss about sleeping together. For physical pleasure I’d sooner go to my dentist any day.
    Evelyn Waugh (1903–1966)

I fancy it must be the quantity of animal food eaten by the English which renders their character insusceptible of civilisation. I suspect it is in their kitchens and not in their churches that their reformation must be worked, and that Missionaries of that description from [France] would avail more than those who should endeavor to tame them by precepts of religion or philosophy.
    Thomas Jefferson (1743–1826)
