The company originally named CoolBrands International Inc., with its core business was in the frozen desserts sector, and where it owned or held exclusive long-term Licenses for a variety of brands, including Eskimo Pie, Chipwich, Weight Watchers, Godiva, Tropicana, Betty Crocker, Trix, Yoo hoo, Welch's and others. It was known for its Eskimo Pie and Chipwich brands, which in February 2007, CoolBrands announced the sale of to the Dreyer's division of Nestlé.Subsequently, CoolBrands announced the sale its DSD (Direct Store Delivery) business, which at the time was the second largest DSD system in the United States. CoolBrands International Inc. also sold of its Whole Fruit business to J&J Snacks. In 2007 CoolBrands International Inc. also sold its Breyers yogurt business, along with its 175,000 square foot manufacturing facility in upstate New York to Catterton Partners for $65,000,000.
