Famous quotes containing the words town, hall and/or fame:
“And oh, I knew, I knew,
And said out loud, I couldnt bide the smother
And heat so close in; but the thought of all
The woods and town on fire by me, and all
The town turned out to fight for me that held me.”
—Robert Frost (18741963)
“The actors today really need the whip hand. Theyre so lazy. They havent got the sense of pride in their profession that the less socially elevated musical comedy and music hall people or acrobats have. The theater has never been any good since the actors became gentlemen.”
—W.H. (Wystan Hugh)
“Certainly fame is like a river, that beareth up things light and swoln, and drowns things weighty and solid.”
—Francis Bacon (15611626)
