It was released as the album's first single on July 22, 2003 through Columbia Records. The R&B song, speaks about what would be the sweetest sin between a couple. "Sweetest Sin" received positive reviews from critics, with some calling it a catchy-tune and the ode to booty knocking. The song failed to chart into the United States' Hot 100, peaking at number twenty-four on Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100. Simpson performed the song on her Reality Tour Live (2003). An accompanying music video, directed by Dean Paraskavopoulos, showed Simpson swaying on a beach and flirting with singer Nick Lachey during the whole video.

Famous quotes containing the words sweetest and/or sin:

Why rather, sleep, liest thou in smoky cribs
    ...
Than in the perfumed chambers of the great,
Under the canopies of costly state,
And lulled with sound of sweetest melody?
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)

Evil is that which one believes of others. It is a sin to believe evil of others, but it is seldom a mistake.
    —H.L. (Henry Lewis)
