Desciples
Hirābāi Badodekar and Dr. Prabhā Atre -–two well-known classical music singers—were among his important disciples. Dr.Vasantrao Deshpande, Pandit Bhimsen joshi, Manik Verma, Saraswati Rane, Wamanrao Deshpande also got guidance from Sureshbabu.
An annual music festival is held in Mumbai by his disciple Dr Prabha Atre by the name 'Sureshbabu - Hirabai Smruti Sangeet Samaroh' since 1992, which becomes one of the major festival of music in the country .
