Famous quotes containing the words development and, development, living and/or standards:

The Cairo conference ... is about a complicated web of education and employment, consumption and poverty, development and health care. It is also about whether governments will follow where women have so clearly led them, toward safe, simple and reliable choices in family planning. Anna Quindlen (b. 1952)

    Judith Lewis Herman (b. 1942)

    Maxwell Anderson (1888–1959)

Everything with them is done as though for sale, and they naturally have in view the greatest possible benefit, profit and that end of the stuff that will make the best show.
    Alexander Herzen (1812–1870)
