Sudden Strike

The Sudden Strike series is a collection of real-time tactics (RTT) computer games set in World War II. The player selects a faction (e.g. Soviets, Germans, or Allied forces) and gains control of many varied units such as infantry, tanks and artillery. The games focus primarily on tactics, eschewing traditional real-time strategy resource gathering and base development. The series is developed by Fireglow based in Russia and published by CDV software of Germany.

Famous quotes containing the words sudden and/or strike:

    The man who would change the name of Arkansas is the original, iron-jawed, brass-mouthed, copper-bellied corpse-maker from the wilds of the Ozarks! He is the man they call Sudden Death and General Desolation! Sired by a hurricane, dam’d by an earthquake, half-brother to the cholera, nearly related to the smallpox on his mother’s side!
    —Administration in the State of Arka, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)

    Submission is the only good;
    Let me become an instrument sharply stringed
    For all things to strike music as they please.
    Philip Larkin (1922–1986)
