Stunt Casting

Stunt casting is a term in casting that refers to hiring of well known actors, such as movie stars, to play bit parts on television series and in films. Stunt casting now also occurs in Broadway productions. Stunt casting makes roles traditionally played by character actors unavailable to them. Examples of stunt casting include Peter Cushing and Alec Guinness in the first Star Wars film A New Hope, and Marlon Brando as Jor-El in Superman (film).

Famous quotes containing the word casting:

This I do know and can say to you: Our country is in more danger now than at any time since the Declaration of Independence. Lyndon Baines Johnson (1908–1973)
