S.T.U.N. Runner - Handheld Releases

Handheld Releases

S.T.U.N. Runner was also released for Atari's Lynx, in 1991. This version, due to the Lynx's inability to render 3D graphics, relied on 2D hardware scaling techniques to generate the effect of fully 3D levels. All other objects (Main car, obstacles, etc.) were scaled 2D sprites. Due to the Lynx's small screen, these slight differences were not noticeable during gameplay. The Lynx version, unusually for a handheld version of an arcade game and despite these alterations, is widely considered the best and most faithful of all the home conversions of S.T.U.N. Runner.

Famous quotes containing the word releases:

We need a type of theatre which not only releases the feelings, insights and impulses possible within the particular historical field of human relations in which the action takes place, but employs and encourages those thoughts and feelings which help transform the field itself.
    Bertolt Brecht (1898–1956)
