The business school also has several research units:

- Fraser of Allander Institute (located in the Department of Economics but operating in a cross-disciplinary manner);
- Strathclyde International Business Unit (located in the Department of Management but also working cross-functionally);
- Scottish Employment Research Centre (located in the Department of Human Resource Management)

Famous quotes containing the words academic and/or departments:
“Short of a wholesale reform of college athleticsa complete breakdown of the whole system that is now focused on money and powerthe womens programs are just as doomed as the mens are to move further and further away from the academic mission of their colleges.... We have to decide if thats the kind of success for womens sports that we want.”
—Christine H. B. Grant, U.S. university athletic director. As quoted in the Chronicle of Higher Education, p. A42 (May 12, 1993)
“Some of these men had become abstrusely entangled with the spying departments of other nations and would give an amusing jump if you came from behind and tapped them on the shoulder.”
—Vladimir Nabokov (18991977)
