Media Career
In early February 2006 through 2007, McMahon signed an initial eighteen-month contract to work as a television pundit for Asia-based ESPN Star Sports, and has recently extended his contract by three years. There, he has worked alongside the likes of John Dykes as commentators, written his own blog, and is based in Singapore. His comments during the broadcast are famous for being honest and sometimes highly controversial, and he is praised by fans and analysts alike for his brave and unique opinions. He has also been responsible for recruiting other former English football stars like Les Ferdinand and fellow ex-Liverpool players, Ian Rush and Steve McManaman, and was part of the draw for bringing them onto the shows like "Football Focus", "Final Score" and for coverage of live FA Premier League matches. McMahon continues to enjoy huge popularity in Asia, and his show regularly attracts a massive audience - sometimes up to 1 billion viewers.

Famous quotes containing the words media and/or career:
“One can describe a landscape in many different words and sentences, but one would not normally cut up a picture of a landscape and rearrange it in different patterns in order to describe it in different ways. Because a photograph is not composed of discrete units strung out in a linear row of meaningful pieces, we do not understand it by looking at one element after another in a set sequence. The photograph is understood in one act of seeing; it is perceived in a gestalt.”
—Joshua Meyrowitz, U.S. educator, media critic. The Blurring of Public and Private Behaviors, No Sense of Place: The Impact of Electronic Media on Social Behavior, Oxford University Press (1985)
“Clearly, society has a tremendous stake in insisting on a womans natural fitness for the career of mother: the alternatives are all too expensive.”
—Ann Oakley (b. 1944)
