Steve Askew - Industrial Salt

Industrial Salt

Steve collaborated with Industrial Salt from 2004.

Hayley Bonnick of Industrial Salt had been taking guitar lessons from Steve Askew when she approached him for help recording a song which needed arranging and recording. After Steve played the track to Kajagoogoo bass player Nick Beggs, a band was formed. Steve and Nick held auditions at music schools across the country and Alex Stamp was found and brought into the band.

Their first single was 'Sugar Bomb Baby', written ten years earlier by Steve Askew and Nick Beggs but never used.

Famous quotes containing the words industrial and/or salt:

Nearly all the Escapists in the long past have managed their own budget and their social relations so unsuccessfully that I wouldn’t want them for my landlords, or my bankers, or my neighbors. They were valuable, like powerful stimulants, only when they were left out of the social and industrial routine.
    Willa Cather (1876–1947)

In order for the wheel to turn, for life to be lived, impurities are needed, and the impurities of impurities in the soil, too, as is known, if it is to be fertile. Dissension, diversity, the grain of salt and mustard are needed: Fascism does not want them, forbids them, and that’s why you’re not a Fascist; it wants everybody to be the same, and you are not. But immaculate virtue does not exist either, or if it exists it is detestable.
    Primo Levi (1919–1987)
