Band Formed
The band formed when singer songwriter Cindy Ryan went into a studio in 1997 to record a solo album. But after working with the session musicians on her album including Genevieve Maynard and Pat Hayes who was a former member of The Falling Joys, she decided to form a band with them. Stella One Eleven’s first album “Mr Big Car” was released in 1999.
Stella One Eleven released their second album 'In Your Hands' in late 2000. The second album “In Your Hands” was nominated for two ARIA awards in October 2001 and generated a top 30 single on the Australian charts in 2001. The album also made the Alternative Top 20 album chart in late 2000. The band also wrote the theme song for “Youth Week” in Australia and were official Youth Week ambassadors.
