Awards
In 1991, Wertheimer was awarded the Israel Prize for his special contribution to society and the State of Israel.
In 2005, he was voted the 39th-greatest Israeli of all time, in a poll by the Israeli news website Ynet to determine whom the general public considered the 200 Greatest Israelis.
In 2008 he received the Buber-Rosenzweig-Medal.
