Athletics
Statesboro High School is well known for there athletics. Statesboro High School is currently part of the Georgia High School Association AAAA athletic division. Its varsity teams include football, women's and men's basketball, women's and men's track and field, women's and men's cross country, baseball, women's and men's soccer, women's and men's tennis, women's and men's swimming, competitive cheerleading, women's and men's golf, softball, women's volleyball, and wrestling. It has won five state football championships: 3 in the Georgia High School Association A athletic division (1956, 1957, 1966) and 2 in the Georgia High School Association AAAA athletic division (2001, 2005); two state basketballs championships (1968, 1991); and 4 state track championship (1957, 1961, 1995, 2005).
