Standards Council of Canada - Policy and Stakeholder Relations Branch

Policy and Stakeholder Relations Branch

The Policy and Stakeholder Relations (PSR) Branch conducts strategic outreach and engagement of those stakeholders with the greatest potential influence and impact on standardization in Canada.

In its leadership and direction of the SCC member program and relevant advisory committees, the branch provides orientation and support to Canadian standardization experts. PSR also coordinates business development activities, training and capacity building initiatives, and manages the sale of standards, collections and related information/education products.

Through its analysis of trends and conditions of significance to standardization-related work, the PSR branch is able to identify and define the necessary conditions for Canada to optimize its use of standardization; facilitate the development of roadmaps in support of targeted economic areas; and make recommendations that influence standards and conformity assessment related aspects of trade and regulatory policy.

Famous quotes containing the words policy, relations and/or branch:

’Tis our true policy to steer clear of permanent alliances with any portion of the foreign world.
    George Washington (1732–1799)

The interest in life does not lie in what people do, nor even in their relations to each other, but largely in the power to communicate with a third party, antagonistic, enigmatic, yet perhaps persuadable, which one may call life in general.
    Virginia Woolf (1882–1941)

In communist society, where nobody has one exclusive sphere of activity but each can become accomplished in any branch he wishes, society regulates the general production and thus makes it possible for me to do one thing today and another tomorrow, to hunt in the morning, fish in the afternoon, rear cattle in the evening, criticize after dinner, just as I have a mind, without ever becoming hunter, fisherman, shepherd or critic.
    Karl Marx (1818–1883)
