Iostream Naming Convention
iostream library uses c prefix instead of std for naming standard streams. In addition to cin, cout and cerr, it offers the clog standard stream, similar to cerr, but buffered. iostream is typically used in the C++ language and the streams are under the std namespace, thus std::cout << "hello world";.

Famous quotes containing the words naming and/or convention:
“See, see where Christs blood streams in the firmament!
One drop would save my soulhalf a drop! ah, my Christ!
Ah, rend not my heart for naming of my Christ!
Yet will I call on him!O, spare me, Lucifer!
Where is it now? T is gone; and see where God
Stretcheth out his arm, and bends his ireful brows!
Mountains and hills, come, come and fall on me,
And hide me from the heavy wrath of God!”
—Christopher Marlowe (15641593)
“By convention there is color, by convention sweetness, by
convention bitterness, but in reality there are atoms and space.”
—Democritus (c. 460400 B.C.)
