Villanova bought the rights to an Ontario Junior Hockey League club and has dubbed them the "Villanova Knights". The Knights are a Tier II Junior "A" ice hockey club, in the OJHL's North Division. The Knights play their home games in North York, and began play in the 2007-08 season.

Villanova is also home to one of the top ranked 'A' senior girls' soccer teams in the province. In 2007, the Knights won the 'A' OFSAA Girls Soccer championship. The team was undefeated in the tournament, scoring 25 goals and allowing only one. In the final, the Knights defeated the L'Essor Aigles by a score of 2-0.

In 2008, the Villanova soccer team won the 25th Annual York University Girls Indoor High School Tournament, the largest indoor tournament in Canada. . The Knights defeated 2 'AAA' and 5 'AAAA' schools, including Sacred Heart 1-0 in the final. In 2009, Villanova won the CISAA championship for the first time in its history. Most recently, the team participated in their third straight OFSAA tournament making it all the way to the gold medal match. They lost 1-0 to Glengarry capturing the silver medal.
