Bells
A new ring of eight bells, which were granted the title The Royal Jubilee Bells, was cast by the Whitechapel Bell Foundry on 3 June 2012. They were temporarily installed on a barge and rung on the River Thames during the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant, part of the Diamond Jubilee of Elizabeth II, and have since been installed permanently in the tower of the church.

Famous quotes containing the word bells:
“For mankind, speech with a capital S is especially meaningful and committing, more than the content communicated. The outcry of the newborn and the sound of the bells are fraught with mystery more than the babys woeful face or the venerable tower.”
—Paul Goodman (19111972)
“The bells they sound on Bredon,
And still the steeples hum.
Come all to church, good people,
Oh, noisy bells, be dumb;
I hear you, I will come.”
—A.E. (Alfred Edward)
“These days of disinheritance, we feast
On human heads. True, birds rebuild
Old nests and there is blue in the woods.
The church bells clap one night in the week.
But thats all done. It is what used to be....”
—Wallace Stevens (18791955)
