Athletics and Activities

The university currently sponsors 21 Division II teams and is a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. The St. Cloud State's men's and women's ice hockey teams also compete in Division I as a member of the WCHA. The mascot is the Husky. Their home is a multi-purpose arena, Halenbeck Hall. It was built in 1965 and can seat 6,900.

Halenbeck Hall is a 6,900 seat multi-purpose arena. It was built in 1965. It is the home of the St. Cloud State University Huskies basketball and volleyball teams.

The school operates a radio station, KVSC 88.1 FM. Students publish a newspaper, the University Chronicle. Students also run a television station known as UTVS, which recently won first place for best student news and productions from the Society of Professional Journalists, as well as honorable mention at a New York competition in 2004.
