Athletics

The Spruce Creek Athletic Program has won the Five Star Volusia County Trophy six times in a row from 2000 onwards. It has produced several athletes of note including Ryan Lochte, US Olympic gold medalist swimmer. In 2006, the girl's softball team was runner up in the state tournament.

As of the 2012−2013 school year, the Spruce Creek boys' weightlifting team has won 25 Florida State Weightlifting Championships, and has 80+ individual Florida State Weightlifting Champions. They also hold the record for the longest streak of consecutive championships at 11, from 1994 to 2004. Since their streak ended, Creek has added another title in 2006, and came in 3rd place in 2007. Six Creek lifters also hold individual state records in their respected weight classes. The Creek girls' weightlifting team has won all five Florida State Championships since its introduction in 2004. Also, the Spruce Creek Boys' Soccer team made the Class 6A Final Four for the first time in school history. Another sport in which this school excels in is Baseball. Creek baseball maintained a 3.7 GPA as of the 2008−09 season and the varsity team won districts as well. In 2012, the Creek varsity baseball team won the Class 8A state championship against Miami Christopher Columbus 7−1.

For the 2007−2008 school year, Spruce Creek was awarded the Dodge Sunshine Cup All-Sports Award for class 6A public schools within the state of Florida. This award honored Spruce Creek as having one of the best overall sports programs in the state. Spruce Creek also has a colorguard program which runs during two seasons (Marching and Winterguard).
