Famous quotes containing the words crop and/or losses:

    Droll thing life is—that mysterious arrangement of merciless logic for a futile purpose. The most you can hope from it is some knowledge of yourself—that comes too late—a crop of unextinguishable regrets.
    Joseph Conrad (1857–1924)

    Hold back thy hours, dark Night, till we have done;
    The Day will come too soon.
    Young maids will curse thee, if thou steal’st away
    And leav’st their losses open to the day.
    Stay, stay, and hide
    The blushes of the bride.
    Francis Beaumont (1584-1616)
