Splash Island educational waterpark is located at the Toronto Zoo, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It uses interactive exhibits to teach about the water cycle (evaporation, condensation, etc.); aquatic animals; water flow in rivers, lakes, and oceans; and more.
Exhibits teach evaporation, and how nature facilitates evaporation within plant life; and the three states-of-matter (solid, liquid, and gas), using polar bears and ice to show water in its solid state.
Famous quotes containing the words splash and/or island:
“The greatest felony in the news business today is to be behind, or to miss a big story. So speed and quantity substitute for thoroughness and quality, for accuracy and context. The pressure to compete, the fear somebody else will make the splash first, creates a frenzied environment in which a blizzard of information is presented and serious questions may not be raised.”
—Carl Bernstein (b. 1944)
“I suggested to them also the great desirability of a general knowledge on the Island of the English language. They are under an English speaking government and are a part of the territory of an English speaking nation.... While I appreciated the desirability of maintaining their grasp on the Spanish language, the beauty of that language and the richness of its literature, that as a practical matter for them it was quite necessary to have a good comprehension of English.”
—Calvin Coolidge (18721933)
