Heaven and Hell (Le Ciel Et L'Enfer)
First published in 1865, this book examines "La Justice Divine Selon le Spiritisme". It compares doctrines and explains the passage from the physical life to the life of the spirit, to a future penalty or reward, angels and devils and eternal damnation. Many examples are given of the condition of the soul before and after physical death.

Famous quotes containing the words heaven and/or hell:
“Prayer is the fair and radiant daughter of all the human virtues, the arch connecting heaven and earth, the sweet companion that is alike the lion and the dove; and prayer will give you the key of heaven. As pure and as bold as innocence, as strong as all things are that are entire and single, this fair and invincible queen rests on the material world; she has taken possession of it; for, like the sun, she casts about it a sphere of light.”
—HonorĂ© De Balzac (17991850)
“Harvey: Youre a hell of a lot younger than I am. And youre a dancer.
Gillian: Im a singer.
Harvey: Well, you dance around when you sing.”
—Blake Edwards (b. 1922)
