• The character of Dr. Evil from the spy spoof "Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery" has a cat named Mr. Bigglesworth styled after the Persian cat affected by the James Bond villain Blofeld. After being freed from cryogenic suspension, the cat is replaced as a Sphynx, because the thawing caused him permanent baldness, and remains so thereafter in the franchise. Dr. Evil procures another such cat for his clone Mini-Me.

• Strange Kitty, a Sphynx cat that wears a tie and hat. Strange Kitty is considered an "oddball" due to his lack of coat and for reading comic books (he even talks). Strange Kitty was most accused culprit of stealing Kitty's presents in "Happy Birthday, Bad Kitty", but had nothing to do with the mystery (it turned out Puppy was the one who stole it), the same book makes him find a mouse friend. "Bad Kitty vs. Uncle Murray" has Strange Kitty turning into a made-up hero named "Fantastic Cat" (making his friend mouse "Power Mouse, the rodent wonder") in an attempt to "save" Kitty from Uncle Murray. In "Bad Kitty Meets the Baby", Strange Kitty acts as an announcer to the cat games. He often carries a spatula. Strange Kitty shows no interest in Pretty Kitty. He is one of the cats from the Bad Kitty series.
• Lady Gaga's music video "Bad Romance" features a Sphynx.
• Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore features a Sphynx-like cat named Kitty Galore, who loses all her fur after falling into a vat of hair removal cream.
