Spence's Point

Spence's Point, on the Potomac River near Westmoreland, Virginia, also known as John R. Dos Passos Farm, was the home of writer John Dos Passos. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1971.

The house on the farm is a simple Federal style building. The boundaries of the landmark include the farm and its house "as well as the boyhood home of John Dos Passos on the northwest side of the intersection of Routes 604 and 610."

The farm is located on the Potomac River, on Sandy Point Neck, on Route 749 about .3 miles northeast of its junction with Route 610.

Famous quotes containing the word point:

Constancy in love is of two sorts: One is the effect of new excellencies that are always presenting themselves afresh, and attract our affections continually; the other is only from a point of honor, and a taking of pride not to change.
François, Duc De La Rochefoucauld (1613–1680)
