Sorrell Booke - Later Years

Later Years

Booke continued to work until he died of colorectal cancer in Sherman Oaks, California at age 64. He is interred in the Hillside Memorial Park Cemetery in Culver City, California. His tombstone reads, "Beloved Pa, Grandpa, Brother and Boss." (The "Boss" no doubt a reference to "Boss Hogg", a character he was loved for by his fans.)

Famous quotes containing the word years:

It takes twenty years or more of peace to make a man; it takes only twenty seconds of war to destroy him.
    Baudouin I (b. 1930)

I dare say I am compelled, unconsciously compelled, now to write volume after volume, as in past years I was compelled to go to sea, voyage after voyage. Leaves must follow upon each other as leagues used to follow in the days gone by, on and on to the appointed end, which, being Truth itself, is One—one for all men and for all occupations.
    Joseph Conrad (1857–1924)
