Student Associative Life

The Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management has an active student society, Cercle Solvay, a student office, Bureau Etudiant Solvay, and the Solvay Business Game.

One of the youngest organisations is the Solvay Brussels School Student Finance Club, created in 2010. It is a student run organization that aims to offer its members a wide variety of finance related activities, whether it is Investment Banking, Investment Management, Venture Capital/Private Equity, or Corporate Finance. The founders’ idea is to create a club that prepares its members for careers in the financial field by fostering an environment that helps them to translate their theoretical knowledge into practice, and that stimulates continuous learning and awareness of recent trends and developments. The club offers those pursuing careers in finance a professional and social network. It constitutes an interface between the finance industry and its members.

Famous quotes containing the words student and/or life:

The roaring alongside he takes for granted,
and that every so often the world is bound to shake.
He runs, he runs to the south, finical, awkward,
in a state of controlled panic, a student of Blake.
    Elizabeth Bishop (1911–1979)

We can conceive a thinking being to have either many or few perceptions. Suppose the mind to be reduced even below the life of an oyster. Suppose it to have only one perception, as of thirst or hunger. Consider it in that situation. Do you conceive any thing but merely that perception? Have you any notion of self or substance? If not, the addition of other perceptions can never give you that notion.
    David Hume (1711–1776)
