Current System
The current system utilises a rolling format in which a player's rank is calculated from points accumulated over the preceding two years, with points attained from tournaments in the current season replacing the points from the corresponding tournaments from two seasons ago. Unlike the previous system where the rankings were only updated annually, the rankings are now updated after every ranking tournament. The rankings set the seedings at the start of the season, and at further points throughout.

Famous quotes containing the words current and/or system:
“I is a militant social tendency, working to hold and enlarge its place in the general current of tendencies. So far as it can it waxes, as all life does. To think of it as apart from society is a palpable absurdity of which no one could be guilty who really saw it as a fact of life.”
—Charles Horton Cooley (18641929)
“Social and scientific progress are assured, sir, once our great system of postpossession payments is in operation, not the installment plan, no sir, but a system of small postpossession payments that clinch the investment. No possible rational human wish unfulfilled. A man with a salary of fifty dollars a week can start payments on a Rolls-Royce, the Waldorf-Astoria, or a troupe of trained seals if he so desires.”
—John Dos Passos (18961970)
