Incidents and Accidents
- On March 12th 2013, a SmartWings aircraft (OK-TVP), a Boeing 737-800 series aircraft overran the end of the runway upon landing at Katowice airport, Poland with 176 passengers and 6 crew. Nobody was injured but the plane could not be moved from the mud it had become stuck in and the airport had to be closed whilst the plane was moved. The cause for the crash is thought to be a slippery runway.
