In size theory, a size pair is a pair, where is a compact topological space and is a continuous function . The function is called a measuring function. The topological space is usually assumed to be also a locally connected and Hausdorff space.
Famous quotes containing the words size and/or pair:
“O hideous little bat, the size of snot,
With polyhedral eye and shabby clothes,”
—Karl Shapiro (b. 1913)
“I well recall my horror when I heard for the first time, of a journalist who had laid in a pair of what were then called bicycle pants and taken to golf; it was as if I had encountered a studhorse with his hair done up in frizzes, and pink bowknots peeking out of them. It seemed, in some vague way, ignominious, and even a bit indelicate.”
—H.L. (Henry Lewis)
