Famous quotes containing the words chapel choir, sistine, chapel and/or choir:

One thing’s certain. With a name like Abrahams, he won’t be in the chapel choir, now will he?
    Colin Welland (b. 1934)

    While Michael Angelo’s Sistine roof,
His “Morning” and his “Night” disclose
How sinew that has been pulled tight,
Or it may be loosened in repose,
    Can rule by supernatural right
    Yet be but sinew.
    William Butler Yeats (1865–1939)

I went to the Garden of Love,
And saw what I never had seen:
A Chapel was built in the midst,
Where I used to play on the green.
And the gates of this Chapel were shut,
    And ‘Thou shalt not’ writ over the door;
    William Blake (1757–1827)

    As night is withdrawn
From these sweet-springing meads and bursting boughs of May,
Dream, while the innumerable choir of day
    Welcome the dawn.
    Robert Bridges (1844–1930)
